Schlösser und Gärten Dresden are responsible for the famous Pillnitz Palace and Park, the Great Garden featuring the Dresden park railway, the world famous Zwinger Palace, the Stallhof, the Brühlsche Terrasse and Dresden Castle. Located along the river Elbe, they are evidence of princely building ambitions and the embodiment of absolute power. At the same time they reflect Saxony's political and cultural history and offer numerous ways of understanding Saxony's development and variety.
Dresden's palaces and gardens are part of the state-run "Staatliche Schlösser, Burgen und Gärten Sachsen" (State Palaces, Castles and Gardens of Saxony), which is overseen by Saxony's state ministry for finances. The individual sites were brought together in 1993 with the aim of preserving this heritage for future generations. The historical importance and artistic quality of this cultural heritage places a considerable burden of responsibility on us, which we fully acknowledge. As the guardians of this heritage our task is to ensure that these cultural treasures are preserved and used appropriately. We offer a wide range of services to our visitors. In the foreground is our desire to ensure that culture and art is presented in an enjoyable and educational way. Tranquillity and recuperation, fun and entertainment all have their place here, alongside a wide range of other services.
Our homepage offers you some important facts about the individual attractions, an events agenda and much more. Embark on a voyage of discovery: We hope you have a lot of fun reading the site and look forward to your visit!
